Archaelogy

In the introduction hall archaeological finds are exhibited from the Zlatograd ethnocultural area. They are from four historical ages:
  • the Thracians (the first historically evidenced population in our lands) – from the second millennium B.C. to the conquest of the Thracian lands south of the Danube River by the Roman Empire in 45 A.D.;
  • the Roman rule – from the mid-1st to the end of the 4th c.
  • the early Byzantium – from the end of the 4th c. to the formation of the Bulgarian state in the second half of the 7th c. (681);
  • the Bulgarian state – from its establishment to its fall under Ottoman domination (681 – 1396).
